Q - What do I need to get started?

A – If you are a new mum or dad and unsure of how many Luvme Nappies you would need we normally say around 20 – 24 is a good amount to get started.

Q - Do these nappies come in different sizes or is it ones size fits all?

A – Great news is that all Luvme Nappies are one size fits all from Newborn to Toddler just by adjusting clasps accordingly plus you don’t need covers for Luvme Nappies either saving you $$.

Q - What is the washing instructions for these nappies?

Washing

• Flush the soiled liner.

• Rinse any liners and place in a dry nappy bucket.

• Rinse the nappy and place in nappy bucket.

• Wash within 2 days.

• Soaking is not recommended. Soaking agents can damage the waterproof coating.

• Machine rinse before washing in cold water using ½ strength detergent on a full load.

• Line drying is best. The sun's UV rays kill bacteria and fade stains. Best of all: it's FREE.

• Use Low heat when tumble drying.

Deep Cleaning

• Do a full hot wash cycle with no detergents.

• Next mix a tablespoon of dishwashing liquid into a sinkful of hot tap water.

• Cheap dishwashing detergent without moisturizers or conditioners are the best.

• Gently massage the detergent into the inner lining of each nappy.

• Do another full hot wash cycle with no detergents.

• A deep clean every couple of months will maintain absorbency.

Q - I thought cloth was supposed to be cheap, but it looks quite expensive to me?

A – At first glance, it can appear this way. But remember it pays to look long term! Cloth is affordable – much cheaper than disposables. See example below - based on average 7 changes per day including night, we used an average of 50 cents per disposable nappy. Did You Know a Newborn - average's 6500 nappy changes from birth to toilet training - $3,250 - plus additional costs such as wipes and if you have 2 babies in disposable nappies, these costs would double! Q - Okay you have convinced me about the fantastic financial savings, but isn't using cloth a lot of hard work?

A – Certainly not. Washing cloth nappies is about 3 extra loads of washing a week. Add around 10 – 15 minutes per load to hang them on the line, which you can do with bub beside you anyway, it’s really not that hard after all. You are still doing the washing anyway. These cloth nappies have evolved to make it so simple and easy especially with our other products for example bamboo reusable inserts and bamboo flushable biodegradable nappy liners.

Q - Cloth nappies leak!

Modern Cloth Nappies actually leak less than disposables! The old fold style did easily leak. These modern Luvme Cloth Nappies are designed to be easier to use, better fitting, breathable and more absorbent. They are made out of fabrics such as bamboo, minkee, certified organic cotton, microfibre and wool, which means they are best for baby.

Q - Cloth Nappies cause rash!

Rash is directly related to frequency of changes! If baby is changed regularly, baby should not experience nappy rash! True nappy rash is resultant from faeces and urine combining to burn the skin. This type of rash doesn't care what type of nappy you use. This rash can be avoided easily when baby wears Luvme cloth nappies.

Q - Cloth nappies are not better for the environment!

A - Cloth nappies ARE better for the environment! The UK's Environment Agency (Government) has released an updated report regarding the environmental comparison between disposable and reusable nappies. This report confirms that reusable nappies are better for the environment than disposable by up to 40%.
