Why Bamboo

  • These Bamboo Breast Pads are highly absorbent and are able to absorb up to three times their weight in water, clearly distinguishing themselves.
  • Bamboo is naturally hypoallergenic and ideal for those with sensitive skin. Bamboo fibre is naturally smooth and round without chemical treatment, meaning there are no sharp spurs or harsh chemicals which may irritate the skin.
  • Bamboo has excellent natural antibacterial and deodorising properties, therefore if they are left damp they will not start to smell, unlike cotton towels.
  • Bamboo is an environmentally friendly resource. It grows incredibly rapidly and, unlike cotton, thrives without the use of harmful chemical pesticides.
  • Bamboo does not require large amounts of water and will grow in dry Australian conditions. It regenerates naturally, does not need replanting, has excellent soil retention properties and helps to prevent soil erosion.
  • Bamboo fabric can be 100% biodegraded in soil by microorganisms and sunlight. The decomposition process does not cause any pollution in the environment.

What is Modern Cloth? No terry squares, no folding, pins or plastic pilchers and no soaking. Welcome to modern cloth.

The LittleShoppers modern cloth nappy is an All In One (AIO). As the name suggests it is a complete nappy system. The outer polyester fabric is laminated in polyurethane to create a waterproof barrier. Inside, comfortable microfleece layers wick moisture away from baby to the highly absorbent microfiber inner material. The LittleShoppers nappy is quick and easy to use.

Q - Someone told me that cloth is just as bad environmentally as disposable. Is this true? A - No, definitely not. It is a common misconception unfortunately. No matter what anyone tells you, when you consider the raw materials, the water and the chemicals needed to even produce a single plastic disposable nappy, only to have it thrown out a couple of hours later, cloth wins hands down every time, first and foremost because a reusable product will always be more environmentally friendly choice than a single use product. Something to think about: approximatley 3.75 MILLION disposable nappies are dumped into our ground every single day, throughout Australia and New Zealand alone. Imagine WorldWide!

Getting Started A newborn will use around 8-10 nappies per day. As the child gets older you’ll need around 5-6 per day. With 18-24 nappies you’ll only need to wash every 2-3 days. Like anything you wear often LittleShoppers nappies will show some wear and tear, the more nappies you have in rotation the longer they will all last, enabling you to use them for a second or even third child. Washing

  • Flush the soiled liner.
  • Rinse any extra padding and place in a dry nappy bucket.
  • Rinse the nappy and place in nappy bucket. • Wash within 2 days.
  • Soaking is not recommended. Soaking agents can damage the waterproof coating.
